A new cruise dock in Juneau, developed by the same team behind Icy Straight Point, is expected to open in 2027 and will allow direct pier access for ships currently forced to tender.
The Alaska Native village corporation Huna Totem Corporation, in partnership with the City and Borough of Juneau, has concluded a tidelands lease agreement for the Áak’w Landing development, thereby permitting the project to proceed to its final design and construction phases.
According to Huna Totem Corp., the Alaska Native corporation overseeing it, work will start on the development next year.
