is a PROMISE…

to those who will walk after us.

Huna Totem Corporation earns for a purpose—for the betterment of our people and for the benefit of all people. Our investments are guided by the mission to provide for today while preserving the culture of the Xunaa Káawu for tomorrow.

Every decision, every partnership, is woven with respect for the land, reciprocity with our partners, and an understanding that our actions echo forward. Our work is intentional, driven by resilience, and rooted in the values that define who we are as Tlingit people. We are dedicated to ensuring that our legacy will endure, honoring our commitments not only for today but for generations yet to come.

TOURISM & DESINATIONS

We honor Alaska’s roots while inspiring a new generation of travelers. Huna Totem Corporation pursues tourism opportunities that celebrate the culture, heritage, and natural beauty of Alaska. Each destination we work with is thoughtfully designed to honor the land and culture, bringing authentic Alaska experiences that uplift our people and inspire all who visit.

Icy Strait Point is more than a port. Once a salmon cannery, this historic site has been revitalized into an immersive experience that blends culture, adventure, and natural beauty, all operated with a deep respect for the land and people. Some of our Alaska-sized adventures include the world’s largest ZipRider, 100% guaranteed whale watching, ATV & Jeep expeditions, Alaska’s wildest kitchen, wildlife & bear search and more.

In partnership with the City of Whittier, Huna Totem is shaping Alaska’s next great destination—a turn port that will soon welcome visitors into the breathtaking Chugach landscapes. With plans for a double-berth pier and immersive excursions, Chugach Glacier Gateway will introduce guests to Alaska’s majestic glaciers, untouched coastal wilderness, and storied World War II history. This port promises future economic strength and shared prosperity for our shareholders and the people of Whittier.

In 2024, Klawock Island welcomed its first cruise season, offering guests a deeply cultural Alaska experience amidst the serene beauty of Prince of Wales Island. Known for its rich Tlingit heritage, Klawock showcases traditional totem carving, local storytelling, unique culinary experiences, and stunning lush landscapes. Through a partnership with Doyon Limited and Klawock Heenya, Huna Totem has helped develop this exclusive single-ship port, prioritizing community values and environmental respect.

GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING

Our pride as Alaska Native people stands right alongside our pride as Americans.

Huna Totem’s government contracting ventures extend our commitment to excellence beyond Alaska, providing essential services to federal agencies with the same integrity and dedication rooted in our Tlingit values. This work strengthens Huna Totem’s financial foundation, creating year-round benefits for our shareholders and supporting our mission to advance the economic aspirations of the Xunaa Káawu.

OTHER INVESTMENTS

Over the years, Huna Totem Corporation has strategically invested in a range of assets that reflect our commitment to cultural preservation, community well-being, and sustainable growth. Each of these investments supports our mission to strengthen and protect the economic and cultural future of the Xunaa Káawu.

Land

Entitled to 23,043 acres under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, our lands are open for responsible, personal use by shareholders, reinforcing our connection to Haa Aaní (our land). We balance cultural values with opportunity by allowing select commercial leases, ensuring a careful approach that preserves the land for future generations.

Real Estate

Huna Totem’s real estate holdings, including the Xunaa Káawu Hit building, have provided reliable income for our operations. Additional revenue is generated through a variety of property leases and land use permits, including the Hoonah Post Office, Icy Straits Lumber, telecommunications companies, construction firms, tourism-related businesses, and other commercial activities.

Trusts

The Shareholders Settlement Trust and Elders’ Benefit Trust honor our commitment to shareholder welfare and legacy. The Shareholders Settlement Trust ensures long-term financial security for shareholders with annual distributions, while the Elders’ Benefit Trust recognizes original shareholders with a special distribution at age 65, acknowledging their pivotal roles in the formation of Huna Totem.

Portfolio

Managed with oversight from UBS, Huna Totem’s diversified portfolio includes equities, fixed income, and alternative assets. Guided by a carefully structured Investment Policy, this portfolio strengthens our economic resilience, enabling steady growth that supports our mission to benefit our people and community for generations to come.
