Network/Zscaler Engineer III

The Network/Zscaler Engineer III will support an existing contract with the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), providing professional services to accomplish key mission objectives, including end-to-end technical requirements management for enterprise IT services, IT Strategy, Policy and Governance Support, Development and Implementation Support, and Operations and Maintenance Support.

The Network/Zscaler Engineer III will be responsible for the following:

  • Brief leadership on the health of systems locally and throughout the enterprise.
  • Provide customers with recommendations to increase performance and redundancy of current network configurations and recommendations for future upgrades.
  • Update or create documentation as needed, including user guides, admin guides, knowledge base articles, FAQs, quick reference guides, and network diagrams.
  • Provide training to peer engineers as needed.
  • Design and set up IP schemas for multi-tenant environments.
  • Configure physical and virtual switching, routing, and firewall protocols, ports, and services.
  • Interface with vendors to address problem escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Research, evaluate, recommend, and provide quality assurance review and evaluation of new and existing networking products, technologies, and enhancements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Zscaler, including the ability to configure, manage, and troubleshoot the Zscaler cloud security platform.
  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Four additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree or certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, PCNSE, CCSA, CCSE, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
  • Twelve years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
  • Solid understanding of SD-WAN and Global WAN design principles.
  • Knowledge of spanning-tree, OSPF, BGP, VRFs, Cisco routers, switches, Nexus, and firewalls.
  • Basic familiarity with Aruba switches and proficiency with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Familiarity with cloud networking and general troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical ability to install new hardware.

VMware Support / Network Engineer Qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing, designing, and troubleshooting Windows Server 2016/2012 R2.
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016/2013/2010 administration and migration experience with Office 365 and Azure.
  • Experience supporting production VMware ESXi environments and performing P2V migrations to VMware and Hyper-V autonomously for SMB solutions.
